COLONIAL SPLENDOR WITH AN AFRICAN TOUCH

Originally built in the 1940's at the famous watering hole along the Lourenco Marques (Maputo) route, this gracious old hotel was purchased by Shaw Leisure in September 1996. The group have restored the building to its former colonial grandeur enhanced with a delightful ethnic ambience, and added new accommodation facilities themed to highlight Zululand's own cultural development. The estate adjoins the Zulu Nyala Game Reserve, and game drives, river boat cruises, horse riding and clay pigeon shooting at Zulu Nyala can be arranged on request subject to availability. Tours to neighboring game reserves can be arranged. The hotel has 40 twin rooms available and is ideally situated for access to many "heritage" sites in the region, which guests may explore privately or with our own guided tours. Sites include the St Lucia Estuary, Hluhluwe, Umfolozi and Mkuzi Game Reserves, Sodwana Bay and various Zulu cultural villages.
